Finish Carpentry & Millwork

Finish carpentry is the work people see every day: the casing around a window, the reveal on a door, the way a baseboard turns a corner. It is also the work Woodwright started with. Our journeyman carpenter has spent more than twenty years on trim, doors and mouldings in homes across Camrose County, and the standard on a small job is the same as on a full build.

What we install

• Interior doors, hung and fitted, with hardware
• Window and door casing, baseboard, crown and panel moulding
• Tongue and groove ceilings and wall panelling
• Fireplace mantels and surrounds
• Custom shelving, closets and built-ins
• Stair trim, skirt boards and railing components

How we approach it

Most trim problems come from what is underneath. Before the first piece goes up we check the framing, the drywall returns and the floor, and we fix what will show later rather than covering it. Joints are cut to fit, not filled to hide. Species, profile and finish are chosen to match what is already in the house or to set a new tone in a renovation, and we will bring samples so the choice is made in the room, not from a catalogue.

New builds and renovations

On a new home we come in after drywall and paint prep, work through the house in order, and hand it back ready for final paint. In a renovation we protect the finished spaces, work in the rooms that are open, and match new profiles to the existing ones so the change reads as if it were always there.

If your project also needs structure, we do that too. Woodwright builds new homes, renovations and commercial spaces, and installs SuperForm ICF foundations, with project management that connects the foundation, structure and finishing work.
